Two-Story Modular, Single Wide, and Double Wide Homes in PA: The Set-Up
You’ve purchased a new double wide home…what happens next? How long does it take? When can I move in? All of these questions, and probably many more, begin running through the minds of buyers the minute they sign their contract. At RidgeCrest Home Sales, you can rest assured that all of your questions and concerns will be answered, and our professional team of sales consultants and construction managers will guide you through the construction and set-up process.
Before Purchasing Single Wide or Double Wide Homes in PA
Prior to making the commitment to purchase a new home, there are many decisions for the customer to make. Between choosing home colors and options, making decisions on the foundation and site work, and working with the bank (if applicable), it’s a busy time for the buyer. Once we begin the construction phase, it’s time for the buyer to, finally, sit back and wait to see the results.
When buyers choose our turnkey construction process, RidgeCrest Home Sales acts as the general contractor on your project, whether it is a double wide home, single sectional home, or a two-story modular. We’ll start by obtaining your building permit and coordinating the timeline of your home build.
While your home is being built in the factory, our certified and insured contractors are working to prepare your site and install the foundation. Depending on your foundation choice, and how far out the factory is scheduled, the timeline will vary. A basic guideline would be 4-6 weeks until your home arrives at your site.
Setting Up Your New Home
In preparation for the delivery of your home, RidgeCrest’s construction crew will review the route that leads to your site and make preparations for any obstacles that may be in the way. The day of the set-up, called Set Day, will be scheduled within 1-2 days of the delivery of your two-story, single sectional, or double wide home. Regardless of whether or not your home requires a pier set, roll on, or crane set, the home will most likely be merged and weather tight within a few hours.
Depending on the size and options included in your home, the crew may spend a few days or few weeks completing the siding, shingles, interior and exterior trim, and finish work. In addition, RidgeCrest and our contractors will be busy completing entry steps and decks, installation and connection of utilities, gutters, final site work, and any additional work contracted by the home buyer. From the day you see a home arrive on site until the day you receive keys may vary from a few weeks to several months based on the complexity of your project, weather events, and contractor schedules.
What Happens After the Home Set-Up?
Upon completion of your project, RidgeCrest will complete a systems check on your home, and a cleaning will be scheduled. On the day of key turnover, all applicable forms and paperwork will be completed. Our representatives will review your entire home with you, giving you the opportunity to go room by room ensuring your satisfaction. Warranty information will be provided, as well as a homeowner’s binder with permits, manuals and all applicable information regarding your home.
