Get Started
CONTACT US
The first step to getting started is to contact us. Customers are welcome to send an email through our CONTACT page, give us a call or stop by our office. In order to provide us with some preliminary information on your interests, we recommend submitting our NEW HOME QUESTIONNAIRE.
COME TALK TO US
Although we make every effort to accommodate our customers through email or phone contact, it’s important that we schedule a time to sit and talk. During our initial visit, we’ll discuss land options if you haven’t already chosen a lot, review the basics of your land and possible challenges, look at floor plans, and discuss a comfortable budget. Once we know your expectations and how you envision the completed project, we can better assist you.
ESTIMATE & REVIEW
After our initial meeting, RidgeCrest will provide firm base and options pricing as well as a list of standard home specifications based on your chosen floor plan or plans. If you’ve found a floor plan you like at one of our competitors, we’ll custom build the home and do our best to be the most inclusive at a comparable price. We’ll also present you with an estimated project proposal based on recent builds of similar size and construction for your chosen plan. When you’re ready to confirm your floor plan choice, we’ll discuss the site work specific to that home and revise our construction estimates accordingly. Once you’re satisfied with the scope of the project and estimated pricing, we’ll prepare a packet of lender information if applicable. In order to take the next step in your home build, a $1,000 good faith deposit is due prior to moving forward with firm bids.
REFINEMENT
Upon receipt of your deposit, RidgeCrest will review our Customer Expectations. This purpose of this document is to guide you through your obligations as the home/land owner. All customers are responsible to provide RidgeCrest with specific information regarding their property, local ordinances, and utility requirements. This information directly affects the on-site work to be completed, and could result in additional charges if not disclosed. RidgeCrest will schedule a construction meeting at your site with the customer, subcontractors, and our representatives to discuss the work to be completed. Once all final bids are received, we’ll make any necessary adjustments to your project proposal and forward to the bank upon your approval. In addition, we’ll be working with you on any option changes to the home, color choices, or any construction add-ons. We’ll do a final meeting to review all home standards, options and color choices, and review all on site construction to be completed. Upon your approval, a final sign off on the home and project will be given.
CONSTRUCTION PHASE
Once your financing has closed, if applicable, the order for your home is placed with the factory. Permits will be obtained, and construction begins to prepare your site for home delivery. Customers will receive updates weekly or as work is completed, and will be contacted with any questions along the way. Once the home is delivered, it will be set within approx. 2-3 days. Customers should plan about three months from this point until key turnover. Pending weather, utility hookups, and scope of alternate construction projects to be completed, this timeline could vary.
KEY TURNOVER
Prior to key turnover, RidgeCrest will complete a systems check on your home and cleaning will be scheduled. On the day of key turnover, all applicable forms and paperwork will be completed. Our representatives will review your entire home with you, giving you the opportunity to go room by room ensuring your satisfaction. Warranty information will be provided, as well as a homeowner’s binder with permits, manuals and all applicable information regarding your home. Final payment is due at this time, and keys will be released.
